I interviewed as a senior research associate. The hiring manager was friendly and apologized for not having a lot of time between interviews and mentioned he will need to check with the team to see if there could be a fit for me. Unfortunately I didn't get the role and was very disappointed. They followed up and explained and it was overall a nice experience with quick feedback!
I applied online. I interviewed at Conception in Dec 2025
Interview
The interview process was fairly short and straightforward. The interview was open about the role and explained why it might be a tricky fit given my specific skill set. Even though it didn’t move forward, I appreciated the transparency and thoughtful communication throughout.

Question 1
What were the most challenging cell types I generated from iPSCs
I had a very similar experience to another review posted for Conception on Glassdoor. I had a 15 minute screening call with the Chief of Staff, Alex Schubert. From the start he seemed incredibly disinterested in me personally and my industry experience, as if the outcome of the interview was a foregone conclusion. Less than 24 hours later they informed me they were going with another candidate so that may well have been the case. Strange company, strange hiring practices, strange people. I echo the sentiments of the other reviewer that their interview process is opaque, they are less interested in your resume and more interested in how personally invested you are in their (scientifically dubious) mission.
