The same experience as majority here it seems. They give you an take home coding test and say they will give feedback to everyone. But after you spend your time and submit it they never respond anything back. I don't understand how can a recruiter be so unprofessional that they won't even send a rejection after explicitly saying that they give feedback to everyone and "Don't hesitate to shoot me an email should anything come up!". I tried to reach countless of times with email and LinkedIn, but received no responses, not even automated rejection email.
Don't waste time on this company, they have wasted so many candidates time already.
We are sorry you had a negative experience during the interview process. Your feedback is important to us and will help us improve during this time of rapid growth and change.
I applied online. I interviewed at Counsyl in Feb 2018
Interview
Recruiter reached out after I had applied to a senior role, but as I was a new grad, she said they're hiring for New Grads as well, so, I agreed to interview. Initially, she was extremely nice and cooperative (Late for interview call)... Keyword: "Initially". The coding exercise was a complicated very DNA specific challenge for which you'd have to understand the science behind it. Took many hours to figure it out. Once submitted, she completely ghosted me. Not even a rejection email. It was very insulting. Forget feedback, at least be courteous enough to respond to emails. Anyone who takes the interview, please, for the sake of your own time, at least let the HR person know that you want some sort of feedback or at least a rejection email. Notice to company, please respect candidates and their time. If we invest time in your problem, at least acknowledge it. Please beware people.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Counsyl (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2017
Interview
I was originally contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn for the opportunity.
The process is a standard phone screen and then if that goes well you will proceed to an onsite with several interviews.
The recruiter was incredibly helpful and so was the interviewer. During the entire process, the communication was very honest and open. I really do appreciate the transparency at the company and would have loved to join the team.
