I applied online. I interviewed at DISH (Denver, CO)
Interview
Brief phone interview and then a group in office interview. After the group interview I was asked to take the assessments at the office which was very loud and distracting as their computers are located in the lobby and they were having technical difficulties that day. During the interview they asked ridiculous questions, like if you are the PM and your manager tells you that based on accident reports all drivers will now need to drive backwards at all times, what would you do?
This recruiter screen was a significant disappointment right from the start. The recruiter called 15 minutes late and didn't even introduce himself or say hello, simply starting with "It's Dish... I have 5 questions for you, let's go." This immediately set a very pushy negative tone. While some questions were easy, others about my resume indicated a clear lack of preparation on his part.
The conversation quickly pivoted to compensation which was roughly 30% below market rate no bonus and 2% 401k match. He also emphasized strict in-office hours, stating I'd need to be in by 9 AM and couldn't leave before my manager. The only "selling point" offered was "working for the best in the business." Given this highly negative and unprofessional experience I declined to move forward with this opportunity.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at DISH (Denver, CO) in Jan 2025
Interview
Very thorough interview process. I went through 5 total interviews to ensure I was a right fit. Recruiter interview, hiring manager interview, panel interview, interview with the Director, and a raise the bar interview. There were also 2 assessments I had to take to ensure my skill level matched the position I was applying for.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Provide an example of a time where you had a conflict with a peer or client. How did you address this and what was the outcome?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DISH (Littleton, CO) in Oct 2023
Interview
Initial interview with Hiring Recruiter to see if the position would be a good fit. I then interviewed with the Division Manager and with two others from the department that I would be working with. After the series of interviews (all in one day) I had to take a few tests then they offered me the position. It was a pretty quick and thorough process.
Thank you for sharing your interview experience with us. We’re glad it felt so thorough while remaining efficient. Congratulations and welcome to DISH!
