I applied online. I interviewed at DLA Piper (New York, NY) in Jun 2017
Interview
I was contacted two weeks after submitting my application. They asked me to do a video interview and completed competency tests. This was BY FAR the worst interview process I have ever endured. The video interview process does exactly what one other reviewer perfectly said- it takes the 'human' out of Human Resources. There was not enough time to prep (30 seconds), and you were unable to correct yourselves or ask questions about the company. A job interview is also about interviewing the company to see if its a good fit! The tests took around 3 hours- very very tedious, but not overly difficult. I would implore DLA Piper to take the time to AT LEASt offer a phone screening and get to know the people interested in working for you! Video interviews are almost always a terrible idea (especially if you're just recording yourself, and there is no one to speak to or clarify anything).

I applied online. I interviewed at DLA Piper (Boston, MA)
Interview
Several rounds of interviews within a few hours. First met with paralegal team, then with associates, then with partners. Everyone was extremely laid back and nice. The partners weren’t intimidating and nobody grilled me with tricky questions. Very much just a conversation of why I was interested in the position and my previous background.
Had a phone screening then in-person interviews. The first in-person interview was with a paralegal, the second was with an associate, and the third and fourth were with partners. The interview wasn’t difficult. Just general questions about why I wanted to work at a law firm and what my previous experience was. Everyone was super nice - even the partners!
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at DLA Piper in Jun 2021
Interview
The day after I applied to 4 positions, I heard back from two the following day. I was asked to do a recorded interview, which I was fine with. I went through a similar online interview process last year for an internship position and I almost landed the position. However it’s been 2 weeks since submitting my recordings and I haven’t heard back.
