      Business Development Representative (BDR) Interview

      14 Jul 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Amsterdam
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Databricks (Amsterdam) in Feb 2025

      Interview

Straightforward process: recruiter call, Hiring manager call, Roleplay, Panel interview (multiple managers), offer. What was very central is this 'Behavioural Questioning' you get so often nowadays. It felt a bit rushed. I only spoke to the recruiter and one person from Databricks throughout the whole process (3 rounds), every round I heard I was successful right after and they wanted to plan the next call ASAP ("can you do tomorrow?"). Last round was locked in and then one day before my last interview I get an email from the recruiter that they went ahead with other candidates. When I arranged for a call for feedback I could only get the feedback from the recruiter screening call and nothing more. I had 3 rounds after that... So it felt rushy, felt as if there was a short timeline to be met, felt as if they had to hire and put me in as a backup in case the ones with an offer did not take it, and once they did, there was no need to go on with me. Unfortunately, not the way I would expect a company to treat people on the job market (who progress through the interview stages successfully).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Explain to me in your own words what Databricks does. - Okay, now imagine you would have to explain to your grandmother in simple terms. This question, in different forms (e.g. explain to a child) came back every round, and I guarantee this will be asked.

I applied online. I interviewed at Databricks (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2026

      Interview

I first connected with a recruiter who informed they liked me and were going to move forward with booking the second interview by the end of the screening call. The documentation and prep materials they share with you are quite robust and the first round interview was a lot of skills based get to know you questions.

      Interview

The process took several rounds, beginning with a recruiter phone screen which is later followed by time with the Hiring Manager. They move quickly and are respectful of your time. Very smart team.
