I just wanted to leave a quick review about a recent interview I had. I think I've waited long enough that I for sure have been ghosted by the Delta hiring team. Something which, in my opinion, is an issue all in itself, especially since I made it through getting two interviews separate interviews. I find this in itself pretty disrespectful to the candidate. To make matters worse, I probably won't get verified evidence that I didn't get the position until 6 months from now when they finally remember to close the req and I receive the auto-generated "Thank you for your interest" email.
My biggest issue and what prompted me to write this is that during my second interview the interviewer let me know that she really only wants to hire someone who will be willing to stay in the role for a while. She was hesitant to hire someone who aspired to move up quickly because in the past the position had produced quite a few team members that had moved up within the company. This just seemed incredibly counter-intuitive and backward compared to the values that most companies (Delta I'm sure as well) hold. If there's a role that seems to be bringing in talent to your department and/or the company as a whole, why wouldn't you celebrate that? I got the impression she didn't feel like having to hire again for the role any time soon and that came across as incredibly selfish. I'm not going to let that deter me, since as a whole Delta seems to be a great company to work for. However, I was taken aback at this comment and thought I should share. That's a pretty major red flag to me.
