I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Deutsche Bank (Johannesburg) in Sept 2013
Interview
Received e-mail from the careers service at my university about the position at DB. Sent my cover letter, CV and transcripts through and was called for an interview 4-5 days later.
1st round interview was done by a recruiter from an external company. Interview was relatively straightforward and involved questions such as:
- describe an event where you had to convince others of my opinion
- describe a difficult situation and how i dealt with it
- etc. etc.
2nd round interview - met two managers over breakfast - myself and several other candidates. Each candidate had the opportunity to speak for a few minutes and give an overview of themselves.
Was not invited for a third round interview
Very easy all behavioral. Went through 3 rounds before getting a email about having one more video call with the main recruiter which means you got the role. Overall extremely easy process over a month or so.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Deutsche Bank in Nov 2025
Interview
I applied online in late September 2025. I passed an online assessment on Capfinity, with questions testing my reaction speed, reasoning capacities, and job-related skills. Two weeks later, I was invited to an online assessment with a LeetCode-style question and a SQL question. I completed an assessment day in Late November, with three 1-hour long interviews. One of them is behavioral, one of them is technical, and one involving coding (in any language). I got the offer two weeks later.
