I applied for the SEO Director position at Digital Silk, and at first, the process seemed promising. They sent a very detailed list of questions asking about my qualifications, experience, past projects, team management, and even specific strategies I had implemented. I carefully replied, providing full answers while respecting NDAs for confidential work, and included my CV and LinkedIn profile.
After sending my responses, I never received a single follow-up. No acknowledgment, no feedback, no invitation for a next step—complete silence. Meanwhile, I noticed that the same job posting has been repeatedly uploaded and re-uploaded over months. It’s hard not to feel like the company isn’t seriously hiring but is instead “idea fishing” or collecting information from candidates for some other purpose.
The whole experience felt extremely unprofessional and frustrating. You put in the time and effort to answer detailed questions, expecting at least basic communication in return, and instead you get ghosted. It leaves a very negative impression of how the company treats potential employees and shows a lack of respect for people’s time and expertise.
Transparency and professional communication seem to be lacking, and it’s disappointing for anyone who hopes for a serious, respectful recruitment process.
