      I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Discover

      Internal recruiter approached on Linkedin, setup a 15 minute call. After that a 45 minute interview with the hiring manager. No Product management/ownership questions but rather a strong focus on the tewchnical side. Final stage, which they call stage 2, was actually 3 different interviews with senior managers who assess your soft skills. Received an offer which I declined. Basically the package was not really as described and the contract was pretty bad. First, this was advertised as a remote role, but the contract states working in an office 2 hours away. The remote work is based on manager consent, which was given, but this can change at anytime. Second, we agreed a 3 month notice post probation, but they only offered 1 month on the contract. This is after 6 months probation period on a 1 week notice. Next, benefits are really hard to understand. For example, study allowance and leave are at the manager's discretion without explaining what qualifies. Finally, I asked to chat with people I'll be working with as I only met senior managers during the process. Unfortunately I was told this isn't possible. Overall, the really draconian probation/notice offer put me off. Together with a remote job that is up the whim manager's discretion and a package that is too complicated to understand, it was an easy pass. On the good side, they offer a really good pension contribution. Something to look out for - it takes them 4-6 weeks to run background checks. These are required by regulators as this is a financial institution. If anyone were to take an offer - hold on until you receive the all clear before handing in your notice.
