I recently interviewed with the CEO and appreciated how friendly and welcoming they were. However, I found it a bit off-putting that the Zoom call was recorded without any prior notice or consent. The meeting began with an automated “Recording in progress” message from Zoom, which was the first and only indication that the call was being recorded. I’ve never experienced that in an interview before and was left unsure about how the recording would be used or stored. A heads-up or explanation would’ve gone a long way in creating a more transparent and respectful experience.
