      Emerging Leaders Program Interview

      30 Jun 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at EY

      Interview

Applied online through my campus career site and was invited to the program without any on campus interviews. I knew the recruiter beforehand, but I think everyone else invited was also able to bypass campus interviews. The program was split into two parts (if you got invited back). The first part was a half day that consisted of two half-hour "interviews" with managers and above (one from audit, one from tax), and then some partners talked about service lines and what not. The interviews were entirely conversational, easygoing, and enjoyable. It seemed like they wanted you to ask all of the questions, which threw me off at first. Overall, you're able to meet their many of their professionals from all different levels, and they're all very nice. Based on that first day, I was invited back to the second part of the program, which took place about a month later. It was a full day of stress-free activities. The externs were broken off into smaller groups with staff level employees. No interviews. At this point, they just want to see if you're a good fit and see your people skills. They ask the staff for their recommendations at the end of the program, so be personable with everyone. I ended up receiving an early internship offer from this program. Show your interest in the firm. Be genuine. Make sure they're the right fit for you too.

      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at EY (Orlando, FL)

      Interview

First interview was a pre-recorded interview where you record a video response for each question. There were 5 questions and you could re-do your response up to 3 times per question. Second interview was a pre-interview dinner. Third interview was a on-campus interview. The first interview is purely behavioral questions, while the second and third interviews are social and talking interviews. You most likely will meet your on-campus interviewer at the dinner before, so the on-campus interview is easy.

Explain a time you challenged the ways things have been done. What was your idea and how did you build support for it?

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at EY (Philadelphia, PA) in Mar 2019

      Interview

I applied through my school's online website. First interview was a pre-recorded interview, and then I was invited to do an on campus interview a week after. It was two back to back 30 minute behavioral interviews and it was basically just a rundown of my resume and a couple of easy behavioral questions on teamwork. I applied to another office besides the Philadelphia office so it took a week until I received my decision. The recruiter from the other office called me and told me about my acceptance.

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at EY (Atlanta, GA)

      Interview

It was an enjoyable process. Applied through the university website and was invited to submit an online interview which composed of answering 3 behavioral questions, but you're given three tries for each question. Was invited for an on-campus interview two weeks later where I met with a Manager for 30 minutes. It started with the typical "so tell me about yourself" question. Just make sure to prepare and have a set of answers for the top behavioral questions (simple search on Google will suffice) using the STAR method. The manager I interviewed with called me 6 days later offering me a spot at the ELP.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They stack several related behavioral questions together for the video interview so be ready Time you failed miserably and what did you do about it? Why EY?
