      Brand Ambassador Interview

      25 Jan 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Edge Advertising

      Interview

I received an email from Edge asking me to call them very shortly after sending in my resume. I called, and found that because I was out of town at the moment, I would be unable to interview. Their unique interview process did not allow for skype or phone interviews. Disappointed, I thanked them for contacting me. About a week later, Edge called me back, asking if I was back in town and still interested in the job. I was, and set up an interview for later that week. I went to their location and was slightly confused by it. It seemed small for the type of business I had assumed it to be. But the waiting area was nice and the receptionist and other potential employees were very friendly and calmed my hesitations. However, as soon as I got to the interview, I was struck by how fake it all seemed. The lady who interviewed me seemed to just be repeating a speech; hardly giving me time to talk or ask questions. I felt as though the preliminary interview was all for show, and either they had already found who they wanted to hire, or they really needed someone to fill the spot immediately and didn't care who it was. When I left, I was told I would receive a call soon if I made it to the 2nd round of interviews. And sure enough, before I even got home, Edge called me back asking if I would come in the next day for an "all-day interview." This all seemed so out-of-the-norm to me that I decided to look up the company here on Glassdoor. I'm glad I did, because I found the 2nd interview is basically a ruse to get you to do door-to-door sales with them all day, then pressure you into working for them full-time. I called and canceled my interview, and moved on to other prospects immediately. If you're looking for a job where you can get hired and make money quickly, go for it. But if you're looking to begin a career, pass.
