I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Emerald Cloud Lab in Sept 2019
Interview
First, a phone interview with the recruiter and a take home quiz that was sent to my email. I was given a week to complete a set of very technical questions in broad areas of science (Numerical analysis, Graph theory, Chemistry, Kinetics, Biology). The questions as others who interviewed for this role have mentioned are very hard and time consuming to answer taking the entire week (+80 hours). After submitting the answers a short email followed that we have decided not to proceed with your application with no feedback whatsoever. I asked them to at least let me know what my score was, but they never responded. Here's the thing: Their whole process is quite sketchy. I suspect that this company is crowd sourcing the answers to some actual questions they have and don't know the answers to by exploiting candidates to do the hard work for them and solutions. They might include few questions with known textbook solutions in the whole quiz set to suggest otherwise. Some of the questions in the quiz are very similar to the questions one finds at sites like InnoCentive.com where there are significant monetary rewards for right solutions they post online. I suggest you stay away from this company. They would not value the hard work and long hours you dedicate to their interview process by even providing a basic feedback on your performance, and their practice to run this kind of interview is very abusive to say the least.

Some basic HR questions such as willingness to relocate, etc on the call and then the quiz questions were sent over the email.

Interview
After learning a bit about the company, I was prompted to take challenge questions which were related to advanced topics in programing, chemistry, biology, statistics, etc. Scoring high enough will garner a typical 1 day interview with team members in the various teams.

Question 1
Be prepare to spend as much time in a week as you can working on challenge questions.
The interview started with an one-week, open-book and open-resource challenge question. These questions cover topics from chemical biology to probability. Once you pass the challenge questions, you are then invited to an on-site interview, which includes multiple one on one meetings with team members, manager, and two presentations.

Interview
1. talked with HR over phone for 30 minutes and scheduled a test.
2. received test on Monday and had one week to answer the question sets. The questions are very difficult and are in math, organic chemistry, biology and chemical engineering. Some questions are actually vague and need to be more clarified. You need to spend A LOT OF time on it during the week. (40 hr+)
3. I passed the test and had a one-day virtual on-site. Some people are friendly but some left me with a not so good impression. Someone kept emphasizing that this job is fast paced and can be stressful. And some people asked me wired behavioral questions.
4. Got reject email finally, not explaining too much why.
Overall, the process is tiring and I would not recommend you applying if you are busy with your current work and are not that into what they are doing. What I learned is this job is really stressful.
