I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Equality Fund in May 2024
Interview
Process ended after an interview with an external recruiter and another one with the team. I enjoyed the conversations with the team but I felt very disappointed at the communication around the processing of my application throughout...I sent follow-up emails that were only answering two weeks later and got a final answer almost a month after my last interview. Very confusing process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What do you think is the biggest challenge about determining investors to allocate more capital to GLI?
Interview process lasted approximately 3 months from when I applied to when I received my offer. They were very kind and organized. I wasn't given the questions in advance but this became a new practice in the months following.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time you made a mistake. What did you do in the moment and what did you do to prevent that mistake from happening again.
The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Equality Fund
Interview
Disgustingly unprofessional organization. I interviewed for a manager position here. The stages of the process were application, interview with HR, 3-person panel interview, online test, and another 3-person panel interview. The entire process took 3 months. In the last panel interview, HR confirmed that they would get back to me within a week. Two weeks later, I followed up by email- no reply at all. One month later, I saw on their website that they had filled the role. They didn’t have the professional courtesy to email me, even in reply to my follow up email. This organization preaches “feminist principles”, to the point where they will prioritize questions about feminist values over questions about qualifications for the actual job. Throughout the interview process they repeat that they prioritize respect and care as core organizational values. How feminist of them to not even offer a candidate the basic respect of a decline email. Throughout the interview process, HR was entirely unorganized, not providing the Zoom links or letting me know how long the interview would run for. All interviews started late with interviewers arriving even later than the start time. Interviewers turned their cameras off unexpectedly throughout the interview because they were cooking and interviewers were eating during the interview. Two separate interviewers interrupted me mid-question during the panel interviews. This is disruptive to the candidate’s train of thought, in a dynamic where there is already a power imbalance and nerves are at play. This is an organization that makes you jump through hoops for a basic job and compensation package. Highly do not recommend wasting your time with this organization. I took days off work to participate in their recruitment process and they didn’t even have the decency to circle back in a professional and fair way. I will be spreading the word about this organization.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions were mostly related to feminist values, rather than looking to assess the candidate’s experience and educational qualifications as related to the tasks of the job. Ironic considering their mistreatment of me as a candidate. Shows the inexperience of the HR team and other executive level staff members involved in the interview process if the questions aren’t composed appropriately. There were at least 8 questions per interview- roughly 30 questions in total across 3 interviews with an application and an online test. They clearly do not know the role well enough that they are interviewing for if the process is that lengthy and burdensome for the candidate. Many of the questions were not appropriate for a manager level, like “how do you learn new things”. Waste of time.
