During the 5th attempt via phone, she asked me to interview for a role that already had interviewees in the final stage, adding that the hiring managers were not pleased with any candidates so far 3. I interviewed with someone who was planning to leave the company that same week 4. I was told the next day that a final stage interviewee was selected This entire process was an absolute waste of my time. The irony is that the recruiter repeated frequently, “I’ve been a recruiter for X number of years and I don’t like to waste anyone’s time…” I understand that this is a challenging, employer market but let’s normalize tact and professionalism again.

The interview process took about three weeks from start to offer. I was surprised a big company moved swiftly in the hiring process. Everyone involved was nice and open. I really felt that I could be myself around them.
