I applied through university. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at ExxonMobil (Southampton, England) in Dec 2023
Interview
This was an online interview.
I was first asked why I wanted to join ExxonMobil, and what I knew about the company.
The main body of the interview was more technical than others I had participated in. The candidate had to identify the main components within a simple P&ID of a fractional distillation column. Secondly, the candidate was asked to provide instrumentation to a furnace/heating system. A basic knowledge of heat transfer concepts is required. The interview finished with an opportunity to ask the employers any questions regarding the company/placement.

I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at ExxonMobil (Fawley, Berkshire, South East England, England) in Aug 2024
Interview
First online assessment and then interview. Have to apply early and interview took place in August. Heard back from them in November, got rejected, no explanation. The whole process is really badly designed, would not recommend it to anyone.
