      QA Engineer Interview

      24 Mar 2016
      Anonymous employee
      San Jose, CA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at FireEye (San Jose, CA) in Nov 2014

      Interview

Lots of management level interviews. I met with VP's and a founder, got lots of information on how FireEye became successful, and interpersonal information that I didn't feel was necessary and actually made me feel as though it was a sales pitch rather than a technical interview. I actually liked the people and the personalities of those I met with, I just felt a job interview for a technical position should have more technical questions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The technical questions were on Perl regex, Linux command line, Snort rules and release processes. The questions were more in line with what I would expect a Linux or Windows Power User could answer rather than those that a senior level QA engineer should know.

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at FireEye (Pune) in Jun 2018

      Interview

The interview process is good, focus mainly on coding. They take all the rounds focus mainly on your coding skills. Past experience doesn't really matter if you decode their programmes.

      Question 1

      1. Merge two sorted list 2. Top view of a tree 3. Find a recurring word or line in a large log file 4. Find second largest in an array 5. Reverse a string
