- Initial Chat with Scrum Master (around 30mins)
- Second stage with CTO and a Developer (around 1hr) with some CV chat and Technical Questions
- Third stage with take home technical test
The first and second stage were polar opposites - so much so, I could be convinced it was a different company. Interviews are done via Google Meet, remotely, so quite easy to make time for.
The first stage was informal and pleasant, and the concept is created that it's a great place to work with good benefits and a very relaxed/generous work environment. The second stage implied that the work itself is a little more old-school, with many of the approaches seeming juxtaposed and coming across as "our way" rather than the "right way". Despite the JD mentioning otherwise, it seemed a little like there was no room to influence or contribute towards standards and practices.
My overall impression was that it was a modern company with an anachronistic engine room.
