      Mechanical Designer Interview

      2 Dec 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boucherville, QC
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Fuji SEMEC (Boucherville, QC) in Jan 2024

      Interview

The interview kicked off with a series of rigorous technical questions. These questions were designed to assess the candidate’s expertise in relevant technologies, problem-solving skills, and ability to handle real-world scenarios. The questions required deep technical knowledge and practical application. During the process, it was clear that flexibility was predominantly on the employer’s side. The interviewers emphasized the structured and predictable nature of the work environment, with clear expectations and well-defined schedules. Candidates were expected to adapt to these established parameters. The management approach discussed was decidedly traditional and old school.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Describe a mechanism that opens a train door with an electrical motor. A second way to do the same movement and a third one.
