During the interview process, I experienced a level of unprofessionalism that I did not expect from a company seeking an experienced frontend developer. The interviewer (CTO) appeared very casual and disengaged, which made the overall atmosphere uncomfortable and difficult to take seriously.
Throughout the conversation, my skills were repeatedly questioned in a way that felt dismissive rather than constructive. I was also encouraged to reconsider whether the role was “really for me” and to adjust my salary expectations downward, even though my experience aligned with the job description.
The position itself was presented with requirements and responsibilities that seemed unrealistic for a single developer, especially given that the role involved being the only person fully responsible for React Native development.
Additionally, the company expected candidates to take unpaid time off from their current employment to complete a demo day, which raised concerns about fairness and respect for applicants’ time and obligations.
Overall, the interview left me with the impression that the company culture and expectations would not provide a supportive or professional environment for experienced candidates.
