I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GoVanguard (New York, NY) in Dec 2016
Interview
I applied online through internships.com. Later on, I was asked to provide several time slots for an initial phone screening. I gave the person 3 slots to call me on. The call was pretty casual and we talked about my resume and the kind of work that happens at GoVanguard. Things went well and the interviewer said he would contact me in about a week with the results. Well he never did call me back even after telling me that he would, it felt like a waste of my time, the least they could have done is emailed me espcially after explicitly stating that they would reach out.
I'm sorry you had a negative experience interviewing with us. We did actually send out an email to the 100+ candidates that did interview with us but didn't move on to the next round. While we would like to call back every candidate that took the time to apply, unfortunately, with the huge influx of resumes that was just not possible. We wish you luck in your future endeavors.
I applied through university. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at GoVanguard (New York, NY) in Jul 2016
Interview
The whole interview was fairly straightforward. A phone screening helped to determine if my interests and general background matched the company focus of GoVanguard (networking, IoT, security, etc). Within about a day I received an email to schedule a second, in person interview. This in person meeting had a simple 1-on-1 format and continued by assessing skills and experience with a series of verbal questions. There were no official IQ tests or personality quizzes, and the recruiter is generally seeking a positive personality with some relevant experience and a willingness to learn on the job.
