1st Round Interview - Tell me about yourself? Why this position? What do you understand about your responsibilites?

Phone call screening and then on-site interview with 3-4 parts. The whole process lasted about 5 weeks and the interviewers, while looking menacing a times, were cordial and nice. Very professional setting, rigid setting. No technical questions were asked.
