      Senior Product Manager Interview

      28 Apr 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Santa Monica, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at GoodRx (Santa Monica, CA) in Mar 2017

      Interview

Interview process was well organized and moved at a consistent pace. Recruiter followed up with feedback within 24 hours (usually same day) of an interview. Process started with a pre-screen, a phone interview with the hiring manager, and then a half day of in person interviews with members of the product team, engineering, and CEO. At no point did I feel I was being interrogated by any team member. The lines of questioning were tough but fair with a good mix of marketing, product management, and technical content. The team was cordial and never rushed. They were interested in learning about me as a person and not just my skill set. Lots of focus on on the cultural fit piece as the corporate culture is very positive and collaborative. My advice for potential candidates is to be yourself and have a good understanding of the industry and the company's general value proposition, as this will help keep the interviews more conversational and effective.

      Question 1

Most difficult line of questioning was around where I saw the industry going and how that would impact their business and growth/evolution.

      Senior Product Manager Interview

      24 Aug 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GoodRx (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2019

      Interview

I had an initial call with the screener, and was surprised because very little of the questions were relevant to Product Management. She asked the generic "Why this company" and "What are you looking for long-term", but nothing that was interesting in terms of product. Towards the end of the call, it was mentioned that the positioned had already been filled but they might be looking to fill more, but likely at a less senior role (I applied and interviewed for a Senior Product Management position). Told her that I really wanted a company that promoted growth within, and she seemed hesitant in her response. Pretty sure that's why I didn't move forward, but the rejection email was very generic with a no-reply email, which was super lame too. At least give candidates a change to ask why, and respond - esp, if they are genuinely interested in your business.
