      Small Business Sales Interview

      15 Nov 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Denver, CO
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto (Denver, CO) in Oct 2018

      Interview

I had a referral who submitted my CV and resume, then the next day I was contacted for an initial phone call. This call was casual, typical questions just to understand why you are looking for a new role and what interests you about working for Gusto. Then I was told I was moved to the next stage and someone would email the written assessment. The same day I got a email with an assessment called the Sneak Peek. This just asks questions you would be asked in the job and they are really just looking for your ability to research and how you would answer the questions. I submitted that the very next day I was invited for an in person interview. This was scheduled a week out and it was going to be 2.5 hours long on site. You have 3 interviews back to back about 30 min each. 2 are more skills based and the last one is more values based they want a sense of what you care about. Very thorough and they seem quite selective with who they hire which is a good thing!

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto (Denver, CO) in Aug 2019

      Interview

Gusto is clear, upfront and exercises great communication. It's the first interview I didn't have to question "what's next"--for a company growing tremendously fast, they are still personal and warm. Can't express how much I enjoyed the process, especially compared to other interviews in tech sales.
