      Senior Product Manager Interview

      16 Jul 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto in Jun 2024

      Interview

I recently went through a lengthy interview process for a Product Manager position at Gusto. It involved a screening, a panel interview with 4 team members, and a final interview. The screening was easy because of my experience, but the panel interview took around 4 hours and required about 8-9 days of preparation. The interviewers seemed positive about my fit for the role, but before the final stage, I was informed that they had offered the position to an internal candidate. Despite this, I talked with the hiring manager about potential opportunities within the company. However, after the call, I didn't receive any feedback, and my attempts to contact them were ignored. Subsequently, I faced rejections when applying for other similar roles. It's frustrating to spend so much time preparing to hear about an internal candidate at the last minute and then be ghosted. Be prepared for similar experiences.
