      Workforce Management Analyst Interview

      25 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at Gusto in Nov 2024

      Interview

I was on the fence about adding this feedback but it needs to be done to set the expectations for those that apply to any of the Workforce Management Roles. I have applied for a few Workforce Management remote positions at Gusto. I have also reached out to employees to find out what it's like to work there and the responses I've gotten are not good. People appear to be scared dreading another layoff. The turnover is high and they are in a constant state of hiring for certain roles but no one gets hired. They do not respond to employee referrals either. I have tried reaching out to those that interview for follow-up and also to see if I can get a conversation started around Workforce Management but they never respond. I can't find whoever makes the hiring decisions. I've also noticed that Gusto has posted positions on the Workforce management team at least 20 to 25 times over the past year or so. This in itself is telling since the ratio of Workforce Management FTE to Agent FTE is usually between 50 - 100 to 1. So, if they actually hired folks for each posting then this means they have 1000 - 2500 agents. It's possible the call center could have grown maybe 1000%+ but not probable. There's is only about 2400 employees in the entire company. So, it sounds like they have one of the largest Workforce Management teams for one of smallest call centers. This screams inefficiency, lack of tools, technology, and perhaps knowledge. Maybe the issue is in the hiring process and maybe they posted all of these positions to fill a role that continues to re-open. Unfortunately, I've spoken with other Workforce Management professionals and they have had the same experience when applying to this company. Is there any accountability? Has anyone ever been hired for any of these positions? Are these jobs even real? Is there anyone with relevant Workforce Management experience to handle this team and the hiring? Is there anyone in charge of the recruiting at Gusto? If there is then they should be embarrassed. If Gusto is serious about bringing in top talent, whoever is tasks with the screening and hiring need to respond and have some conversations with people.
