The interviewing process can be both exciting and nerve wrecking when one enters into the professional arena. The most recent experience I have had in such was when I interviewed for an Assistant Sales Manager position. Through the various experiences I have encountered, I have learned over the years that interviewer often wants to know more than just information regarding yourself. He/she want also to see active interest from you for their company and them as leaders over that group. An interview can be more than just a screening. It can be a wonderful learning opportunity and stepping stone. In this last interview I had, the district manager spoke to me of interests and skills. Questions were asked and answers given. Of significance note, however, was the indirect attention to remain calm in social interaction and transactions both bad and good. The job would involve both setting up billing and collections for overdue payments. So even though the manager was kind in how he approached this in the interview, it was imperative for him to find out how this job candidate would respond to such.
