Received invitation for a first round of interview with HR almost three weeks after submitting my application. Linkedin notified me the recruiter had viewed my profile right after the submission. So my expectation was low for the job. This should have been the first clue for me that I’m probably not their first choice. But then both HR and the hiring manager at the two rounds of following interviews were extremely nice and we had really good conversations. After the second round, the manager described the next steps and gave me very detailed plans and timeline, so I really thought I had a chance. Fast forward four weeks after that, nothing, no emails, no rejection letter. They might be nice people but ghosting is just worse manner hidden under those fake smiles. I have no problem taking rejection but ignoring a candidate after showing seemingly genuine interest and give them hope is something really inconsiderate and unprofessional. Either they completely ignored me because I’m not a good fit and no one at the company has the decency to tell me or it’s just extremely slow at doing things. None of them is good news for an organization in this fast changing and competitive market.
