Initially had a telephone interview with the HR Director, who was professional, detailed, and engaged. Gave good over view of the company and the role. HR Director was able to speak to some the general concerns and challenges of the company. HR Director was not well versed in larger external political issues of the practice and how it connects or does not connect with local hospitals and other providers (more of an observation rather than a critism). Scheduled an interview with the ED. The ED was cold, disengaged and a bit domineering.
The Exec Director did not present an atmosphere what would suggest that we would be working closely with a team. The ED did not make any effort to sell the company or the job, it felt more like they were looking for a replacement cog. It felt that the ED had a change of thinking about my application and was just going through the motions. I did not want to waste any ones time, and I ended the interview after 20 mins. (I note that the ED was 20 yrs younger than myself -- and was aged about late 30s. I am prepared to defer a bit and give some slack in the attitude, the lacking of maturity, and being 6 months into the job -- perhaps still trying to prove themselves to the hiring leadership.)
