The one on one is just to assess your personality/aptitude for learning the position. Once you've made it to the group interview, you're pretty much in (as long as you use common sense to answer common and predictable interview questions). The group panel usually consists of your 2 immediate supervisors, 1 or 2 other department directors (depending on the position) and 2 peers.
