      UX Designer Interview

      18 Nov 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Poughkeepsie, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IBM (Poughkeepsie, NY) in Nov 2019

      Interview

You first had to do two assessment challenges after the initial phone screening. If you passed that round, they give you a design challenge to complete. You present that challenge to a current IBMer. Then you interview with your would-be manager. After that, they fly you out to their Finish Line event and you complete a case study with a cross-disciplinary team of developers, offering managers, data scientists and designers and then a behavioral one-on-one with a member of your supposed team.

      Interview

Minimal communication and unclear expectations before the interview. The interview was a mix of behavioral, UX specific, and portfolio review questions. Not much time for the interviewee to ask questions themselves.
