      Product Development Lead Interview

      2 Dec 2009
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at IBM (Boston, MA) in Mar 2009

      Interview

There were two phone interviews. The first was a screen of sorts where the recruiter asked me a basic set of background questions. I'm not even sure if the recruiter knew what I was saying but apparently he liked what I had to say because I had the next interview the following day again over the phone. The second interview was with the companies' CTO who would have been my manager. We discussed my background and my approaches to development and best practices. Then for a more detailed example he presented me with a specific problem that the company faced in their development and asked if I had a solution. I discussed a few possible solutions all of which, he later let me know were solutions they had already tried, but he was very up-beat about my having suggested solutions that might have been viable. After this I had to cut off the in person interview because my current job had me traveling internationally for an extended period and the company I was interviewing with needed to make a decision.
