I interviewed at IG Lintels (Newport, Newport, Wales)
Interview
It was through a recruiter and was organised at the office. It was a non technical interview and just a general chat about my degree and experience. I had to contact the recruiter to find out whether I got the job or not to which they told me they had filled the role
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at IG Lintels (Cwmbran, Wales) in Aug 2021
Interview
Microsoft Teams meeting (Aug 2021). Both interviewers were pleasant and asked questions like:
Tell us about yourself?
Describe how you are under pressure and give examples?
How well do you know AutoCAD and SolidWorks?
However, when discussing salary, they offered £19k pa for a graduate position which is completely undervalued, and their reasoning was that they'd have to give 6-12 months training. There are jobs out there not requiring an engineering degree and the expertise needed for this job description that pay a lot more than that.
The person they want that they wouldn't have to train for 6-12 could easily accept jobs that pay above 25k (the high end advertised on the job description).
Overall, a straightforward and pleasant interview but with an insultingly low salary offer for someone who meets the job recommendations specified by them.
