called right away for interview, online interview (recorded) with computer, not with person, difficult questions, can record multiple times, takes around 1 hour depending on the time you take to record
I applied for the Localization Project Manager position at IKEA and was invited to record video responses via HireVue. There was no recruiter involved, no human interaction whatsoever — just me talking to my webcam, answering pre-set questions.
I took the time to prepare and submit my answers thoughtfully. And then… nothing. No feedback, no status update, no rejection — just complete silence.
For a company that prides itself on values and people-centered culture, this process felt cold, robotic, and deeply disrespectful of candidates' time and effort. If this is how IKEA treats potential employees, I can only imagine what working there must feel like.
