I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Malmö, Skåne) in Mar 2025
Interview
The HR Recruiters have all been top notch and great to work with.
Typical process:
- HR Screen
- Hiring Manager interview
- Peer + HR interview + test
Etc.
I applied online. I interviewed at IKEA (Amsterdam) in Feb 2021
Interview
I applied through Ikea career page. The first interview was a 30 minutes screening chat with an (external) HR person that assessed if I was a good profile.
I've got a positive answer after a few days and moved to the first f2f interview with the VP of Design. There was a small task where I needed to prepare a presentation with some of my achievements and to show my managerial style.
The conversation went pretty well and the VP is very nice and makes you feel relaxed.
After a few days I've received a positive email saying that I was going to have a final/next stage with another person from the leadership and they would book a call soon.
I was over the moon and followed up with a couple of emails in the week after as I was going through other interviews. The HR person completely disappeared until I've messaged the VP directly over Linkedin to ask for feedback.
On the same day I've received a message from the HR person quite generic, saying that they wouldn't progress with my application any more and something about having found someone more suitable. After a few days, the same role was back up on Linkedin.
