I was contacted by a recruiter for an initial phone screen. During the call, she asked about my salary expectations. When I asked about the compensation range for the role, she initially declined to provide it. I shared a range of $50–60k, and she then stated the maximum budget was $20 per hour.
A second interview was scheduled as a video call. On the day of the interview, no video link was provided, so the interview was conducted by phone instead.
During the second conversation, the questions went into detailed role-specific topics that felt more in-depth than a typical recruiter screen. I was told I was the second candidate interviewed and that additional candidates would be interviewed before anyone was submitted.
After the interview, I did not receive follow-up communication. Later, I noticed the job posting had been updated to include additional responsibilities related to software implementation.
Overall, the process felt disorganized, particularly regarding scheduling and communication about compensation.
