I applied online. I interviewed at Illumina in Jan 2021
Interview
1. Virtual interview mixed with behavior and technical questions, can redo once if not satisfied with the first take.
2. Meet with hiring manager and do some more technical and statistical related test (like describe alignment process), not super difficult.
3. Meeting with HR to talk about salary and whether you will be taking the position.
4. Fly to main campus, meet with hiring manager in person. There aren't any more interviews, this is mostly like an orientation.

A quick call, last about 5 minutes. It was a fun interview, with a lot of interesting question to answer for. Overall, it was a nice experience. Hats off to the Illumina's HR team
First round is one-way interviews, where you record videos of yourself answering questions. Next round is a panel interview over Zoom. At this interview I was asked to give a presentation on an academic paper.
