I recently interviewed for the System Engineer role at Infosys. The process included technical and behavioral interviews, a technical assessment, and discussions with senior team members. 1. What motivated you to pursue a career as a System Engineer, and what skills do you bring to the role? 2. Can you explain the basic components of a computer system and their functions? 3. Describe a situation where you worked on a team project. What was your role, and how did you contribute to the team's success? 4. How familiar are you with operating systems like Windows and Linux? Can you discuss any hands-on experience you have with them? 5. What do you understand by the term "network protocol," and can you name a few common network protocols? 6. How would you troubleshoot a computer that is not booting up? What steps would you take to identify and resolve the issue? 7. Have you used any scripting languages like Python or Shell? Can you provide an example of a simple script you've written? 8. Explain the importance of data backup in system administration and the methods you would use to ensure data is regularly backed up. 9. Are you familiar with virtualization technology, and if so, can you describe what it is and how it's used in IT environments? 10. How do you stay updated with the latest trends and developments in the field of system engineering, especially as a fresher?
Overall interview process was good. Questions were easy to answer. Basic questions from resume projects were asked. Also some questions based on ML, OOP, DBMS were asked. Prepare basic topics very well.

Interview
The interview was easy; they asked questions related to my resume. Also asked general questions like how AI will affect jobs in the IT industry. The interview was friendly and comfortable. Also asked whether i had any questions.
2 rounds of interview for Infosys first is coding round and then managerial round mostly and sometimes test is also there. Interview is not tough though but referral is important
