Phone screening by a recruiter, then a ph interview with the hiring manager and then on site interviews with several people. What was very different is the background check before making an offer. They said I am one if the final two. I know some companies do and it is not illegal but the vast majority do after making an offer (contingent on successfully passing the background check, references etc.).
