Was referred to the position by a member of the club, who forwarded the job description. This did not indicate whether the position was hourly wage or salaried, though as it was described as management, I assumed salaried, and did not indicate any salary range and requested applicants to state their expectations in a cover letter. No digital communication was available concerning the opening; all via postal mail or telephone calls from the committee chair. Specific direction not to call the office regarding the position. Received a letter that they had received my resume and received a letter that they had chosen someone else for position. Interviewed by a panel/committee of seven club members including the current and incoming president, several past presidents and prominent members. The interview was a tad bit disjointed simply because I was responding to seven different people. The atmosphere was a strange mix of very cordial and stiffly professional interactions. After the interview I was introduced to the Manager of Business and Finance for more of a conversation than an interview. I felt the interview went very well and was very optimistic about my prospects of getting an offer.
