If you are planning for giving interviews in JPM Mumbai, you are in for serious fun activity and roller coaster rides.
So, I recently started looking for a job and got a call from a manager in JPM (elated I was !!). He scheduled an interview after 2 days at 12PM. On the day of interview, nobody called. In line with their culture, they did not care to inform why interview never happened. I had spent lot of time studying for the interview. Can't complain that it was a time waste, can I ? After that knowledge would come handy in interview for another company next day. Nonetheless, the experience brought back memories from past and nostalgia was all over.
5 years back, I moved to Mumbai from New York with no job in hand. Got call from JPM for an interview. On day of interview, met many candidates who had missed their office to come for interviews. Well, the process started one hour late. For that 1 hour many people got opportunity to stand in JPM lobby because they did not keep sufficient chairs to sit. The first round extended beyond lunchtime because they called more candidates and interview panel was small. Many candidates left without finishing interviews as they did not plan for complete day off (lucky them!). On such days, the best part usually comes late (no, not in the way you are thinking). Around 3PM, they told the candidates that the manager who was supposed to take second round is not available and they will not be able to go ahead with the process !!. So close to 30 people miss their office only to find out that they it was just a drill. Actual interviews would happen some other day :D
I was job less then and continued to give interviews where ever and whenever I got call from any company. I gave around 14 interviews at JPM in 2-3months. They will never communicate properly what's actually going on. Don't be startled. They have HR per department, and calls come from different departments. I finally got offer from another organization.
But I have to say these people are serious about resumes, email communication and relationship with you if you have ever given interview in JPM. They kept sending me emails for next 2 years that my resume could not be selected. Joy of receiving such emails can't really be put in words :-)
