I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Jive Software (Portland, OR) in Feb 2016
Interview
The in-house hiring manager handled the execution of the out-of-state process. She was thoughtful and helpful throughout.
The first step included providing my resume and credentials to the posted position. The initial process was very clear and established.
Next was scheduling and participating in virtual interviews. These involved my potential manager and several senior engineers. This was mostly seamless over video and enjoyable.
Then I was asked on-site for another round of in-face interviews. This was scheduled dutifully by the hiring manager and I had little to worry about other than performing. Flight and hotel arrangements was handled for me.
The interview process was low-key and breezy. I was expecting more challenging questions, but was happy to come across as prepared.
After the interviews, the hiring manager quickly responded within a day and we started the negotiations on salary and title, which was fairly low-pressure.
