Direct transfer from within during hiring freeze. Initial contact by Project Manager. In his office, there were multiple managers from affected departments (losing and gaining). The Project Manager told me that he was approached by the gaining manager (present) and the request was verified by the other managers present. He told me that he was told that I was the only guy who could close the records and property book in the timeframe given and he asked me if this was true. I told him that I was humbled, but that it was more than likely true based on my document and computer skills, my experience and employment history. He asked if I would like to take the position, I told him that I would do whatever the company needed and that I would consider it a great honor to do it, so yes - I would take the position.
