I applied the position through their website and I got screening call within a week. Next step was phone interview with technical team and then they asked me to go onsite for face to face interview. My general experience with interview was pretty decent. No HR involvement or no description of company and such during my interview. My interview took total of an hour with 4 people total. At the end of the interview, hiring manager wanted to talk to me one on one. He offered me job and also based on my salary at a time, he offered me pretty competitive raise. I could not make the decision at the moment as I had to consult with my family.
I had more questions about the job position and company so I reached out to the hiring manager and he offered me solid view of both.
Finally, I decided to take the job and when I called hiring manager to inform about my decision, he came up with some excuses of the job itself. Basically, he mentioned me that I will be sharing my time not only with his group but also will have to be available with some other tasks and projects. (I do not have any issue with taking more responsibilities but the explanation he was offering me was not matching my job profile and it sounded like they wanted me to do some work not actually related to job description).
Unfortunately, I had to decline the position on the phone right then.
