I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Leadstar Media in Feb 2024
Interview
Had an inicial chat with HR that was arranged the day after I applied. That went well and I was given an assignment. I then heard nothing for an extended period, which caused me to reach out.
At this point I was informed they had "gone in a new direction" but would consider my application anyway because it was of such high standards. At this point, I thought all was going well.
I met the team leader, the person who would be my boss, and then the hiring manager. Both of these went well, especially the "boss" because I think we had a good connection. As for the hiring manager, again, a good chat, some negatives were brought up about my CV, but they felt so nit picky it was almost like something had to be said.
I was then waiting around two weeks, only to be told, among other things, that I was “too experienced”. I was left with the most bitter taste in my mouth. I expected so much better from the process, and it put me off the company, and honestly the industry in general for the time being.
For me, I chalked it up to one of two things -
They mean you will want more money they we want to pay (money was never talked about)
We want to train someone who has no experience so we can make them our puppet. I suspect, this is what happened.
Again, the people I met were lovely, or very good actors. I've since been hired by a rival firm, and used the process at Lead Star to help secure that job.
My advice for Lead Star - you process is too long and lacks clarity, and you need a better excuse for not hiring people.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Leadstar Media (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Feb 2024
Interview
The process involved three steps. First, I had a brief and friendly interview with HR to determine if I would be a good fit for the company. Next, I interviewed with the development team to discuss the role and their working methods. It was evident they were open to hiring a junior developer with a strong willingness to learn. The final interview was with the COO, where we discussed the company's vision and the developer role at Leadstar.
The entire process was efficient, and communication with the recruiter was excellent. From application to signing the papers, it took only three weeks.

Question 1
The questions were both personal, focusing on who I am as an individual, and technical, related to the position I applied for.

Interview
It was a smooth and pleasant process!
It starts off with a shorter interview with HR, followed by an exercise and then a longer interview that includes a presentation about the company.
After that I had an interview with the team leader, talking more about the position and my previous experiences etc.
Overall I think it was informative and useful.
I don't recommend applying if you are not sure that you want the job, since the process is quite in depth, and they are looking for long term employees.
