I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) in Feb 2016
Interview
I applied online and after a few days I got a confirmation email that I have been successful and to book for a telephone interview. I was asked question more of Why Lidl? In what kind of working environment you would want to work? What are the roles for the position? What can you offer for this position? What skills are essential for this position? What do you know about Lidl? After I passed the telephone Interview i got an email saying that I will have a face to face interview in 14 days. I went at that store and I was told that me and the other two candidates should help and put stock in shelves from a pallet. That took around an hour and then I was told to think as part of the interview question one positive and one negative for this store. When I went in the interview room I was a bot nervous but I started feeling better when i met the Interviewer and the other manager which I already met whilst doing a bit of work. They were both nice and friendly. The interview was more of a daily conversation I would have with people I know. Good people.

Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
