      Senior Android Developer Interview

      8 Mar 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Life360 (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2018

      Interview

First round with the Hiring Manager who reached out to me, second round was online coding session with the developers in the team which went well. They called me for onsite with 5 rounds. All interviews went well, was able to solve their questions in the way they wanted. Want to highlight the last round which was android coding round. They asked me to code an android activity with recycler view which has to be populated with images from an api. While i started coding, the lady interviewer started laughing which made me a little nervous and i starting wondering if i made any silly mistake in the code. In a while she burst into laughter which became uncontrollable for her and she had to leave the room for some time to get into normal condition. Second interviewer tried to control himself, and was laughing sometimes with her. This whole process made me very nervous. Next day the recruiter reached out to me asking my expectations and also asked if i have any feedback for the interview process. A week passed and i reached out to them to ask about the feedback and the hiring manager scheduled another interview saying that he was unable to meet me during onsite. I was a little surprised because i already met five people and there was no discussion scheduled with him. He scheduled the interview next day and started asking the same questions he asked during the first conversation i had with him and ended by saying that they will get back to me after a week. After a week i reached out to them again for the feedback and they declined by saying that they found a better match. They didnt even bothered to update me by themselves. One mistake which did was not sharing my android coding experience with the recruiter or the hiring manager. Also, when asked about the future plans and growth of the company, everyone including the hiring manager has the same answer "Changing the architecture of the app to Uber's RIB design". No upcoming projects or feature in pipeline. A piece of advice to the company: Please respect candidates time and please allow those people in the interview panel who can respect the seriousness of the interview and not burst into laughter.

      Senior Android Developer Interview

      21 Dec 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Calgary, AB
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Life360 (Calgary, AB) in Dec 2023

      Interview

The first interview with the recruiter was great, with a pleasant conversation about my experiences and the job. However, the subsequent interview with the hiring manager was unpleasant. He was late and on the phone, seemed disinterested, and interrupted me frequently, giving the impression that he didn't want to be there. As expected, I didn't proceed to the next stage, and the technical interview was canceled. A major red flag for the position was the manager's strong preference for Uber RIBs, an outdated architecture from 2018, and their application, revamped in 2018, still containing a significant portion written in Java.
