MAKE Architecture interview questions

Two stage interview process - First interview was engaging - they asked lots of questions and so did I. - Second was quick, the interviewers weren't even aware that it was my second interview and didn't ask many questions at all. Didn't seem very engaged in the process. I was rejected based on things that had come up about gaps in my experience in the first interview, but I was surprised to have not been questioned on these in the second, and therefore not given the chance to expand on them. Not really sure of the value of the second interview, for me or for them? Made the process longer and more expensive and wasn't used as an opportunity to clarify their concerns about my application.
