Macmillan Cancer Support interview questions

Positives… - Quick progression through interview rounds - Application process v simple - Question themes sent in advance Negatives - Interviewers asked for a VERY brief explanation of your current role. No summary of career - therefore no opportunity to explain why you’re a good fit (which is weird as the application didn’t really flush that out either) - Interviewers turned up late - no apologies offered until I commented on it - Interviewers made no attempt to build rapport - very sterile - After round two of a three round process I was unsure if I wanted the role due to the lack of interpersonal interaction (and reading the reviews of Macmillan this was a red flag) - There was no attempt to understand experience in the process - round one with HR, round two with hiring managers and others who fired out questions but didn’t do any builds on what was actually said and round three was scenario based. - Took 5 working days to tell me the outcome (after getting to final round) and that was done via email. I think that’s incredibly rude given how much personal time people spend preparing for interviews. If someone makes it to final round the hiring manager should be calling and having a conversation. Quite frankly this was the last red flag about Macmillan so I was relieved to not have been offered. Advice - Read reviews BEFORE applying - Go with your gut - interviewers seemed unhappy and bordered on hostile.

The interview panel was excessive for the level of job. Poor set up and chairing. They appeared uninterested, I am of the opinion it was already allocated and interviews a formality.
