I applied online. I interviewed at Macrix Technology Group (Poznań, Greater Poland) in Sept 2022
Interview
The interview lasted somewhat more than 120 minutes, conducted in 3 separate parts by 3 individuals.
I. Led/interviewed in Polish
First one was dedicated to getting know the markets the company operates on - types of projects a new employee can expect after joining the company. Led by one of the founders of the company.
II. Interviewed in English
In second round I was asked a couple of technical questions, interspersed with IT small talk which I think led to some misconceptions. Anyway, I knew it went badly. I got into troubles when asked to name a few domains modelling patterns; I went from DDD to Event Sourcing and then I failed at the Event-Sourcing-to-CQRS subjection. Surely, I need to read on naming conventions for that pattern - I read Evans' book but it was 10 years ago, and I never got back to it again. I cannot remember other questions, but they went not as badly as that one. Led by Team Lead.
III. Interviewed in German and Polish
Final round was led by Head of Development which went the most pleasing for me. Managerial examination in soft skills interspersed with some dos and don'ts questions; finalized with my expectations.
It is good that I received feedback afterwards but it could be a little bit detailed so I could gain advantage:
>>>"The most common reasons for not choosing to further interview are:
>>>-no required technical knowledge or process knowledge highlighted in the advertisement
>>>-no level required knowledge of the English language
>>>-financial expectations above the budget indicated in the job advertisement
>>>-competences far above the needs of the position"
Surely it was a good lesson for me. Actionable insides which I took are to systematize old but partitioned knowledge. Do not start a topic if you are not sure if you can exhaust the subject. I employed 3 different languages which was advantageous for me.
Keep calm and apply!
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Macrix Technology Group (Poznań, Greater Poland) in May 2020
Interview
Received a call from HR and scheduled an online interview because of Covid19. Interview lasted between 90 and 120 minutes. First 30 minutes I just listened about the company, then got connected with one of the senior software developers and was asked loads of different questions about C# and .Net framework. Got to the next stage where I had to design an application in C#, had couple of days to finish it. I didn't get a job offer because of that assignment. It was not enough to just meet the specifications, of which I was not aware.
